Strategic Gateway to UK and Europe
Capitol Park is superbly situated directly adjacent to Junction 36, M62 with unparalleled access to multi- modal transport links.
Multi-Modal Transport
Road
From the M62, the site has direct access to the M18, M180, A1M and M1 motorways. The East Coast Mainline rail link to London via Doncaster and the international airports of Humberside and Doncaster/Sheffield are within 30 minutes travel time of Capitol Park.
The site provides immediate access to the ports of Goole and Humber Estuary and there is potential to add a dedicated rail loading terminal for major cargo handling to the existing rail link.
Rail
Capitol Park, Goole is located just 17 miles east of the East Coast Mainline linking London with the North East and Scotland. The main freight route to the container ports of Immingham, Grimsby and Goole are accessed via this line and its importance as an integral part of the National Rail Network cannot be understated.
A ‘run-round’ movement to the east of the development accesses the site itself. This dedicated spur, which already serves Guardian Industries, has capacity to serve the rest of the site with potential for goods such as containers, steel and aggregates to be transported directly into the site from the Port of Goole.
Ports
The ports of Immingham, Grimsby and Goole collectively handled over 67 million tonnes of bulk and container traffic in 2008 and have further capacity.
Goole is Britain’s premier inland port. The combination of a strategic location at the heart of the country’s transport infrastructure along with extensive and expanding modern high quality facilities enables Goole to provide a rapid and cost effective service to its \ customers.
Goole offers:
- Reduced haulage costs due to the port’s close proximity to the UK motorway network
- Proximity to the industrial heartlands of West and South Yorkshire
- Availability of road, rail and canal transport
- numerous general cargo berths as well as specialised terminal for containerised traffic, timber, bulks, cement, cereals and scrap metals
- A wide range of facilities for unitised, bulk and general cargoes
